Attention!
Apple OS 10.3.9 update and PHR-100AC, 100AF, 250CC and PHC-500BC hard
drive enclosures

| OS 10.3.9
causes above listed PHR Firewire400 hard drive enclosures fail to
mount in Desktop. If you experience this problem, please follow
the instruction below to update the Firewire firmware and the problem
should be resolved. If you have done enclosure firmware upgrade
to version 4.70 before, it should continue to work. |

| For Mac OS X, |
Please download
the file FireWireUpdater
and extract it on you desktop |
| |
| For Windows 2000
or XP, |
| Please use both
the firmware updater utility"2000_XP.zip"
and the firmware "USB1430_473.upd"
to update the firmware version to 4.73 |
| |
Please connect
the enclosure to your Firewire port first,
1. Open the "FireWireUpdater" on the Desktop. and follow
the instructions on the screen.
2. The Initio Firmware Updater window pop up on the screen and your
enclosure should show in the window.
3. High light the device shown on the window and click the "Update
Firmware".
4. "Please select the firmware file" window pop up and
point it to the UPD file.
5. After you update the firmware, please restart your computer and
reconnect the FireWire enclosure.
6. If the FireWire Enclosure still cannot be mounted, please check
the firmware version under the System Profiler. |
