Please open the mouse and clean the rollers with your finger or a Q-tip. Please start up your computer with extensions off. To do this start up your computer and hold down the shift key until the screen reads extensions off. Then go into your extensions folder and delete Point Device Daemon and Point Device Init. Then go to your control panels folder and delete Point Device. Last go to your preference folder and delete Point Device prefs. After all this please go to http://www.macally.com/techsupport/drivers.html and download and install Two Button Mouse Driver v3.6. You must reserve at least one button as single click button. All you need to do is change the other button to single click button first and then change the button in question to its new setting. Adjust the mouse tracking speed only from the Point device application. Don't open the original mouse control panel.
To make it simple, disable the original mouse control panel that came with your system. Yes. It is possible . In this case, the mouse will work just like single button mouse and only the left button will be active. Yes. If you want to load the mouse driver manually, do not install the extension file into the system folder. Copy only the Macally mouse application to your hard drive and double click the icon when you want to use it. Macally 2 Button Mouse was disconnected from ADB port and reconnected while the computer was on. (Warning:Do not plug or unplug any ADB device while the computer is on. It may damage your computer and all connected ADB devices)
Check if the 2 button mouse extension file is missing from the system folder. If it's not there, re-install the driver. Most PC compatible cards manufactured nowadays using modifier keys and mouse click to emulate the PC second button. However, few older PC cards uses "=" key on the keypad side of a extended keyboard. Try to find out what's your PC board's keyboard short cut first and then program the setting into the Two Button mouse driver. To program the "=" key, please refer to page 10 - Keystroke" setting. Although you can play DOS games in a PC emulation software, the mouse will not necessarily respond to it. The rule of thump is if you can not make the Apple ADB mouse work, this Two Button Mouse won't work either. You need to install the gamesprocket driver. Currently it's available in beta version. Please download from here. Please delete point device software (extension, preferences, Control panel) restart, reinstall, and restart once again. Please apply a small amount of car wax smoothly to the ball. The ADB Trackball is a one button mouse that is intended for right and left hand users. It cannot be programmed.
