Q: My PowerBook does not recognize the USB adapter, what can be wrong?
A1. Please make sure the USB driver is version 1.3.5 in your system.A2. Please make sure that your PowerBook has CardBus port, not PCMCIA port. CardBus ports are only available in G3 PowerBook models, all the previous PowerBooks come with PCMCIA ports. CardBus to USB Adapter
Q: When the CardBus adapter is connected, my PowerBook freezes or crashes after while, what gives?
Please go to control panel under energy saver and turn off processor cycling in AC adopter and battery.
Q: Why my CardBus to USB adapter does not have a power cord?
CardBus to USB Adapter draw power source from the computer. Thus, no power cord is necessary.
Q: Can I use CardBus to USB Adapter in PC notebooks?
Yes, it requires Windows 98 or Windows 98 SE. It uses default driver from Windows CD.
Q: Why won't my peripherals work when connected to the card?
For Mac OS 9.x; Please check the Extensions folder for the following extensions (high light it and use apple+i): HID Library V1.4.1 If you have newer version, please trash them first, then install the v1.4.1 extensions. Q: Why does my computer keep freezing every time I start the machine up with the card installed?
1.Please take out the card and start up your machine.2.Go to your Apple icon, control panels, then energy saver. 3.Go into Advanced settings. 4.Uncheck allow processor cycling for both power and battery adapter. 5.Shut down your computer and plug in the card and start up your machine. Q: How do I know if the PCI to USB adapter is properly installed?
A1. If you are not sure whether your computer recognized the adapter or not, try to connect a USB mouse to the card and see if it works. Please make sure that you need USB Card Support v1.3.5 driver for OS 9 and version v1.2 driver for OS 8.6. A2. Another way to identify the adapter is to use Apple System Profiler. Under "Devices and Volume", you’ll see a new "USB card" under the "PCI" section. Q: Why won't my peripheral work when connected to the card?
Please make sure that you have installed USB Card Support from Apple's website. If you have not please go to http://www.apple.com and search for the drivers. |
